Smartphones seems to have braced the market today, every other company in the block is heads on competition with the others and then Android has made a huge mark in the industry that today, buying a smartphone for a consumer simply means buying an Android phone. Android has developed from a little Cupcake it was to a Jellybean that is today. Android is the most preferred operating system for smartphones in the world, though iOS rules the US market. Every version of Android has only made the companies manufacture phones that would make the experience better. Sony is also among the companies that have collaborated with Android, and the wait is finally over for ones who have been waiting for Jellybean 4.2.1 update for their Sony Models.
Sony has finally released the Android 4.1.2 JB OS update on its three models includes Acro S, Xperia S and Xperia SL. The long awaited update which was in news since long has finally come true by the end of the May. Before this update, the Xperia P, Xperia Go and the Xperia E dual got the Jelly Bean update last month. Sony is talking good business by remaining faithful with the new Xperia models they released a while back. All the tiny glitches faced by Xperia S, Xperia SL and Acro S would be sorted with this release. Sony looks forward in keeping their customer base loyal to them with such pampering.
The users with these phones would get a notification about the update and it will be available through Over the AIR (OTA) or through online connection through a PC or a Mac. Connecting Sony Xperia S, Xperia SL or Acro S would require PC Companion on Windows XP, Windows 7 or Windows 8; and Bridge for connecting through Mac. The update is not released worldwide at one go, but would be rolled out gradually across different countries. If you are waiting for an update Over the Air, you need to check if it is available through you network operator, in your country.
Brands such as Sony are the ones who receive first updates, such as Jelly Bean; which means they should have been updated a while back itself. The Xperia phones are under constant focus by Sony, and that could be the reason why the updates took long, because the work on the update was not getting soon to the finish line soon enough. Sony also has said that more details on the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, for the rest of its Xperia models would be declared within a week. There was a live update on the company’s twitter account, confirming the information.
The Xperia S required the update mainly because of its poor battery life with constant use despite its superb screen clarity and High quality camera. The software of the phone did not attain to be top notch for the build it has been provided with. Sony, especially after bidding goodbye to Ericsson, is focusing keenly on ruling the smart phone market. The main question is if it can do it alone with these many models and updates coming up for most of their models. The Xperia S in general is high end even while in use and not just on paper. With features like 4.3” Sony Bravia HD technology screen, 12MP Exmor Cybershot camera; the phone focuses on rich user experience. The phone is better than most of the smart phones in the range and offers an extra deal in every aspect. Simple design flaws like solid unresponsive android buttons and a see-through light strip below the buttons just prove that they are really trying hard to be different.
Xperia SL then is almost the same as Xperia S and only impresses you in the performance section. The update would improve the application tray in the application menu in the smart phone, which also includes a new search function. Both the monolith designed phones are great to use and at 144 gms, they cannot be tagged as heavy phones either. I personally liked the weight distribution of the phones, and could be used single handedly without getting minor heart-attacks of dropping them. Xperia SL was a great upgrade to Xperia S in terms of performance, but the new 4.1.2 Jelly Bean could break away the tiny glitches as well.
The Acro S on the other end is already high fashionable already and the Jelly Bean upgrade was not expected for the smart phone this early. I like the build of the phone, which is classy, neat and of course very fashionable on the inside. The phone is packed with better features than its competition, and with the new update, the pages could be turned completely on behalf of this baby. On paper the smart phone did not really impress me, but using the phone was bliss. Fingers crossed with the update, if you have an Acro S; for it could be a great move for the inside of the phone.
The new Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update would give the phones a better battery back-up, mainly by preventing data traffic when the screen is locked or off. The issue of battery the battery might be improved, especially due to the problems faced by the Xperia S and Xperia SL. The setting of BATTERY STAMINA mode must be engaged for churning the most out of their batteries. The update would also include a revamped home-screen experience with up to 7 desktop panes for the icons, auto-resize for widgets and actionable notifications. The entire sorting function and the layouts would be improved for more with the update. With improved app organization with better application tray, this update could do wonders to Xperia S, Xperia SL and Acro S. The application tray would also include a new search function, which could be of good use.
The update is also included with Google Now; which is an intelligent personal assistant by Google for the Android operating system. It uses a natural language user interface to perform actions with the help of web services. The app can also predict your future searches based on your previous searches and give you suggestions for your next task. Now we all can have a have activated assistant inside our Android with this new feature. New themes and lock-screen interfaces too up with the update, which would be similar to that of the Sony’s latest Xperia Z. The update would be available for Xperia Ion right after this, announced the company.
With the announced update finally available to Sony users, it is now time to click on the UPDATE button to extract the most out of your Android gadget. The Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean for you, Xperia folks!
